Alex Medina

Founding Partner, Medina McKelvey LLP

Alex was about to graduate from law school, take the California Bar Exam, and start his career as a lawyer when life threw him a curveball. After his dad got sick and died from cancer quickly and unexpectedly while in law school, Alex responded to God’s pursuit and gave his life to Christ at age 24. Assuming this meant he should exchange his legal career for formal ministry, he enrolled in seminary at night while working 60+ hours per week at an international law firm in L.A. Exhausted and searching for direction, he listened when the friend who led him to Christ suggested that the Church had plenty of pastors but not enough lawyers. That moment was the catalyst for Alex to begin practicing law from a Kingdom mindset. Twenty-two years later, Alex co-owns and runs two businesses: one of the state’s most influential employment law firms—Medina McKelvey—and the first- and only-of-its-kind online wage and hour training, testing, and certification company—California Compliance Solutions. Living out his call as a peacemaker, Alex dedicates his professional life to serving California employers with compassion and making an impact locally, nationally, and globally through his companies’ financial and pro bono legal support of numerous ministries and charitable organizations.
